Ornamental Features

Echtermeyer Weeping Crab Apple is draped in stunning clusters of fragrant pink flowers along the branches in mid spring, which emerge from distinctive dark red flower buds before the leaves. It has attractive coppery-bronze-variegated forest green foliage which emerges purple in spring. The pointy leaves are highly ornamental and turn outstanding shades of yellow and red in the fall. The fruits are showy red pomes carried in abundance from early to late fall. The fruit can be messy if allowed to drop on the lawn or walkways, and may require occasional clean-up.
